How to Accomplish Something
Goals for the end of Feb/March:
Get A’s in my classes
Convince my mom to let me bid on some of the amazing Oliver! costumes
Go to yoga/pilates classes after the run of Oliver! is over
Stop killing my hair with unnecessary heat
Rewrite my History essay – get an A
Clear up my skin
Drink 8 glasses of water a day
Stop eating so much junk food
Since this was such a random post I’ll spoil you all with a little low quality picture of our makeup for Oliver!
I’m the brunette (though I’m naturally blonde).

Inspiration #2

Things that inspired me this week:
Charade – Best Audrey pairing ever. The clothes are fabulous and the setting is Paris. What more could you want? I find it even more charming than Funny Face.
Confessions of a Shopaholic- This movies has beautiful pieces but mostly god-awful combinations. However, it inspires me to be more…oh, how do I put it, finance savvy? (Yeah. Good luck with that.)
Ann Demeulemeester – Makes me want some kickass lace up boots. Now. So much for being finance savvy.
Jenny Humphrey – No. Not because of her, really. But because of that darling Nanette Lepore “Night and Day” coat she sported on Gossip Girl. It’s reasonable to say the least, but certainly is an investment at 520 dollars. Money I don’t have. Pooh.

Jerry Hall’s Chanel shots are amazing – they just scream glamour and sophistication. Of course, they’re a little steamy too, a la Marilyn Monroe. It makes me want swipe on some MAC in “Russian Red” and spend all of my nonexistent money on a Chanel flap bag (Hey, I can dream, right?). She looks wonderful at 52 and Karl Lagerfeld not only makes a genius designer but a kick-ass photographer! (Pardon my language).

Wouldn’t you like to be me?

Behold – a designer in the making.
Guess who’s celebrity’s line this is and you’ll win the following:
1. A cookie.
2. A tap dance.
What’s your opinion on the design? Hit or miss? The designer will be revealed shortly (if no one can guess it, that is.)

The September Issue
Feast your eyes. This documentary, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, will be shown in many theatres across America in, of course, September.
The documentary follows Anna Wintour through the nine months it took to create the September 2007 issue. That’s right. Nine months for one issue. It was the largest issue of Vogue ever and showcased Sienna Miller on the cover. It was also my first issue of Vogue. Which is awfully symbolic for me; as this brought on a new passion in my life.

Strap Me Up
Stripes, volume, and laced up shoes seems to be the main focus this season after Ann Demeulemeester. While I consider the clothing as a whole to be fabulous, I think the shoes are the best part. It feels as if I’ve seen these shoes many a time before, yet, Demeulemeester has that magic of taking them and making them feel brand spankin’ new.

As you can see, Demeulemeester commonly uses a black/white palette, but these season she strays a bit with a few coral pieces. The structured jackets however, like the color palette, has always been a keeper. Laced up shoes and strapped up heels have been spotted in from what I’ve seen of Demeuelemeester’s past lines, but these season there’s certainly a lot more foot showing and more extremist versions of her past works of art (shoes).
I also found it notable that, in keeping up with the times, sequins and bold jewelry have been included in Demeulemeester’s Spring 09 collection.

Wish Listed
Every year I do it – this year I just did it a little late. I plot out all the little lovelies I would like to (I prefer “will”) acquire. Now I present to you, my lovely readers…my 2009 wish list.
Punchy Dresses with Origami/Experimental Shapes- Not only am I in desperate need of dresses (I only have six!) I need items that are more one of a kind. No more basics for me.
The Sexy Dress- I think this speaks for itself.
Badass Jacket- Everyone needs one of these jackets. Y’know those jackets that just scream “I’m too cool to even talk to you. Bitch.”
Belts-I currently only have two belts. That’s right two. Doesn’t make for many combinations and if you know me well you’d know that I have an obsession with belting my outfits.
Scarves- They’re always useable for each season and can be transformed into various shapes.
Vintage Bags – Mainly those with an 80s feel. The recent use of neon in both Teen Vogue and Stephen Sprouse’s graffiti inspired collection for Louis Vuitton. I’m totally craving those Louis leggings too. DIY, maybe?
Shapely Jewelry- I’ve never been a jewelry person period. But as of late I realized how much of an impact jewels can make on an ensemble. After hours of research I’ve found that I’m mostly drawn to those with odd, blocky shapes.
Hoisery with Personality- Socks! Stocking! Panty hoses!…in every texture and/or length possible.
Shoes!Sandals, platforms, strappy shapes, and namely…
Christian Louboutin Pumps- Ever since my mother and I kicked our Starbucks addiction we’ve decided to put the money towards something we lust after. Of course, I picked the Loubs (Who wouldn’t?) and I might have them by December!
I also have my eye on this Yves Saint Laurent ring. I’ve been lusting after the other rings as well, but there is just something about the purple that draws me to this one in particular.

It’s 195 dollars. I can’t judge if it’s worth the price for the piece or not. It’s just costume jewelry…but it is Yves Saint Laurent. What do you think?
